Lorraine’s journey into surrogacy began with a heartfelt conversation with a friend struggling with infertility. “When you’re young, life feels so simple—meet someone, fall in love, get married, and have babies. It’s what you expect to happen,” she recalls. But when she learned about surrogacy in 2005, Lorraine realised that life doesn’t always follow a straight path, and families can grow in incredible ways.

In 2006, Lorraine became a surrogate, an experience that changed her life forever. Helping someone achieve their dream of becoming a parent brought her so much joy and left a lasting impression on her heart. In October 2024, she proudly attended the high school graduation of the child she helped bring into the world—a powerful reminder of how surrogacy touches not just families, but entire lives.

Since becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in 2013, Lorraine has worked for five years in maternity and medical-surgical care, supporting people through some of life’s most important moments. She has also been part of the Canadian fertility field since 2009, using her experience to guide and care for intended parents and surrogates with kindness and understanding.

Joining ANU Fertility Consultants was a natural fit for Lorraine. She believes in the importance of community, education, and supporting people through their unique journeys. Her goal is to help others feel informed, empowered, and supported every step of the way.

When asked why she is so passionate about surrogacy, Lorraine’s answer is simple: “For the love of it.” She is dedicated to growing families and building meaningful connections, always guided by her belief in the power of love and shared experiences.

Outside of work, Lorraine loves spending time with her family and being part of her community. She also has a soft spot for Starbucks and can be bribed with a coffee to enjoy a good chat or a walk. Whether she’s connecting with others, learning new things, or reflecting on the lives she has touched, Lorraine shows how one person can make a big difference in the world.
