Hello! We are Ryan and Alkarim. We have been together for 16 years and have been trying to have children for the last 5 years. We are a bit nervous but excited to make it this far! Alkarim’s cousin has generously gifted us eggs and we are now looking for someone to help us grow our family. This is the furthest we’ve ever made it.

We met in university to become teachers. After school we moved to Sweden to teach. When we came back to Canada, Alkarim went to med school to become a doctor. We moved to Winnipeg for school and we still visit once a year to meet with friends. Alkarim is now an emerg doctor. Ryan works at the University.

Now that school is done for both of us, we have settled down in Edmonton permanently to be with our family. After a long wait, we finally got married in the summer of 2024. We celebrated with a fun mix of traditions from both sides. We have big families with lots of cousins, nieces and nephews here in Edmonton who are very excited to meet our future child.

Our family currently includes a miniature schnauzer named Olive and an aussie-doodle named Fernando. They love when we babysit family so that they can sneak into their bedrooms to cuddle with them.

For fun we go camping with friends in the summer and have dreams of building a teardrop trailer. We host nintendo tournaments for our nieces and nephews and are excited for our own kids to join the tradition. We play board games. Ryan likes to cook and Alkarim likes to bake.
