To the wonderful soul reading this right now:

We’re Jim and James, aspiring homesteaders from rural Guelph (we just bought a home here!).

Actually James is a software engineer, and I’m an actor and children’s books author. And of course we have a dog! We’ve been together for fifteen years and happily married for three.

Both of us are in our 40’s now and nothing will bring us more joy than to have a child (or two) of our own to spoil with love, while we still have the health and energy to play with them.

James is incredibly kind and loving to everyone he meets. He’s great with electronics, can speak Mandarin, and sounds smart talking about anything from science to music. He’s going to be an amazing dad. Me, I love to write (still working on finishing my first novel…). I also love traveling and learning languages like German and Japanese. And I love horror films and reality TV shows. James tells me I’d make a great father.

Our dog Kepler, who’s been our little boy for almost ten years, enjoys going on hikes, camping, road trips, and visits with his grandma (James’s mom). We
hope to give him a little human brother or sister someday.

The thought of someone reading this makes us a little nervous and scared, but also really happy and hopeful. There’s so much more we want to share with you! You’re probably asking yourself, “Do I wanna give a year of my life for these two guys?” And our answer to you is, “If you’ve made it this far, you’re the one!”

We can’t wait to welcome you into our lives. Thank you so much for your special gift to that one lucky couple – hopefully us 🙂
